I feel saddened by the fact that this ‘rescue’ group has commented on the dogs being euthanased in pounds within ’30mins’ of them being surrendered. The shelters and pounds around this state are inundated with surrendered animals on a daily basis and try very hard to rehouse these animals. Many of these animals are surrendered because of behavioural or medical issues. In a realistic world, they unfortunately aren’t rehomeable.
As for ‘surrendering’ your animal, maybe we should be looking at education of owning an animal and costs that are associated ie; microchip, desexing, vaccination, registration, training, secure housing, basic needs etc…,
There should be stricter rules put in place for owning an animal. All animals should be desexed if you are not a registered breeder, this would stop a lot of unwanted litters.
I don’t feel the blame shouldn’t be with ‘pounds’ regardinging unwanted animals………YOUR pet, YOUR responsibility!
Great job on the editing and for doing the story.
Its great… drn are getting messages through now as to fostering
Thankyou
