FULL STEAM AHEAD FOR TRANSGRID PROJECT

TransGrid says it’s pushing forward with a $100-million proposed electricity upgrade between Stroud and Lansdowne, despite community opposition.

The company firmly believes the project is necessary to support the growing population.

  1. I would like Transgrid to answer just a few questions …1. How exactly do they work out their figures foe this project for the mid north coast because all the figures to Date show a reduction in power use … Pls supply valid figures

    2. what other carbon reducing energies have been looked at, where are the facts and figures coming from? I thought this government was about carbon reduction even though they have reduced or removed solar rebates?

    3. If these huge 330kv power lines are safe … What actual independent studies has this government done in regards to health considering 1000s of people are affected with many more likely to be?. Isn’t there a duty of care here! Where are the promised regulations wn regards to Arpansa and worlds best practise?

    4. Considering easement neighbours get absolutely no compensation even though they can be equally affected in regards to land devaluation what value does Transgrid and the government put on them? 0%? It’s outrageous!

    This company needs to supply the communities they are devaluing with valid figures not just sprouting some mythical figures they state are too difficult for us to understand!

    How many communities are they going to throw into turmoil for unjustified infrastructure, wasting of millions of taxpayers money which ultimately will raise prices of electricity for carbon raising coal revenue!

    I am personally sickened by this governments gung ho methods for putting a quick dollar into coffers no matter what damage they do … I guess that is for the next governments to try and fix!
