Thank god someone has stepped up to protect our pools future. While it has aged and been allowed to run down by our council. It is an iconic part of our cities waterfront and needs ratepayers to come on board to sign the petition and protect it. Certainly there should be more parking. Any redevelopment of the water front should accommodate the ratepayers public amenity even perhaps a complete rebuild which ensures the pool remains both public and waterfront in perpetuity

The Gosford Memorial Pool has been servicing the central coast community since 1955. The facility has a 50metre heated outdoor pool, 25 metre heated indoor pool, hydrotherapy pool, learn to swim pool and toddler play pool. The pools also have solar heating. This facility is unique like North Sydney aquatic facility and should be part of any waterfront strategy. I encourage all Central Coast residents to email the Mayor and Gosford Challenge and object to any proposal to either close or relocate this facility from its current site. Send an email by accessing the following website at: http://www.thegosfordchallenge.com.au/contact/
and send an e-mail to the Mayor of Gosford City Council who’s e-mail details are at the following website:

The Gosford Memorial Pool is centrally located. Many people who work in the Gosford Central Business District go to the pool and exercise in their lunch breaks. The pool is within walking distance for residents residing in the Point Frederick, East Gosford and Gosford areas. A bus service stops next to the pool and the train station is an approximate 10 minute walk. A 50 metre pool, 25 metre pool, hydrotherapy pool, learn to swim pool and toddler play pool would not fit any closer to the centre of Gosford. Moving this facility would obviously mean provision of a smaller facility to service a growing central coast community than is currently provided at its present site.
