A spate of attacks on Newcastle University students has been raised in Canberra, as part of a roundtable on international student welfare.
Encouraged by their local MP, Alexa Halford and Vicki Chew voiced their concerns about the violence.
Alexa today said, “There’s been many issues covered, security of students and safety of students on campus.”
31 students from across the country participated and compiled a letter to the Deputy Prime Minister, that includes suggestions on how to resolve safety, security and transport issues.
Alexa added, “I also hope we have more communication between the police force and the students and university. I think a lot of these concerns can easily be taken care of.”
