A shop keeper was stabbed several times in an attempted robbery at a Lake Macquarie bottle shop last night.
The offender, wearing a grey hoodie and balaclava, entered the Woodrising Cellars at around 7 o’clock and demanded money.
The victim refused and police say the two men got into an altercation before the offender stabbed him three times.
The offender fled and the victim was taken to John Hunter Hospital for emergency treatment.
His injuries are not considered live threatening and a crime scene has been established.
