A man has been charged after allegedly threatening a police officer in Port Macquarie with a loaded spear gun.
Police say the man walked into the Port Macquarie police station shortly after midnight and produced the weapon aiming it at a female officer’s head.
Police say they spoke to the man for several minutes before convincing him to surrender the spear gun.
He has been charged with assault and with possessing a loaded spear gun in a public place.
