SYDNEY FC TOO STRONG FOR JETS
As expected, Sydney FC won this afternoon’s A-League pre-season match, against the Newcastle Jets at Port Macquarie 2 – nil.
Well prepared, Sydney started today unbeaten in 10 pre-season matches so far and the glamour side was on the attack early again, with former socceroo John Aloisi slotting one past the keeper within seven minutes.
There were also encouraging signs for the Jets, with Tarek Elrich and Kaz Patafta working together well on the right hand side.
Newcastle did have some opportunities, Jin Hyung Song trying to break through.
Eight minutes into the second half though, Alex Brosque squared up for Aloisi to make it a double.
Sydney FC defended to the final siren, to seal a two-nil win.
