MINING EQUIPMENT FINALLY SHIPPED

After a wait of almost six months in Coffs Harbour, a gigantic piece of mining equipment is finally on its way to Western Australia.

The 80 tonne exchanger, built by W.E. Smith Engineering, will be used in the processing of natural gas at Woodside’s plant at Karratha.

Unsuitable weather caused the delay in shipping the equipment, which prevented it being loaded onto a barge.

After being towed to Brisbane it will be loaded onto a ship for the remainder of its voyage.
