HUNTING CRACKDOWN

The New South Wales Games Council is cracking down on illegal hunting on declared public land and private properties.
A campaign called Bush Alert is being run in conjunction with the police and Forests New South Wales, encouraging country people to report offences such as trespass and spotlight shooting.
Forests with a long history of illegal hunting, including that at Nundle, will be targeted.
Fines of up to $5,500 apply for people caught without a game licence.
