Gunnedah high school has secured funding for a new gymnasium and hall.
The project was announced in this week’s budget,after a long-running campaign which included hundreds of signatures on a petition.
The facility will include a multi-purpose court, equipment store, amenities, and a first aid room.
Construction will begin in December and be open for students, teachers and the community by August next year.
The project is part of the government’s four year $2-billion Building Better Schools program.
