TEENAGERS IN PURSUIT FACE COURT
Four teenagers, arrested after a high-speed police pursuit along the New England Highway, have faced Armidale children’s court.
The boys, aged between 13 and 17, sparked a chase after highway patrol spotted two allegedly stolen vehicles, whose drivers were wanted for failing to pay for fuel.
The chase for one vehicle ended when the two occupants fled on foot at Black Mountain – they were later arrested south of Glen Innes.
The second car was stopped only after police deployed spikes.
The teenagers are facing numerous charges, including motor vehicle theft, driving in a manner dangerous and driving without a license.
Two will reappear in court tomorrow, while the others have been bailed to reappear on the 2nd of July.
