POLICE OFFICER ACTED ALONE IN FATAL SHOOTING

Police have revealed that a 25-year-old man, shot at Armidale in northwest New South Wales yesterday, was fired upon by a plain-clothes officer, acting alone.

Both the policeman and the man’s family have been offered assistance, while the shooting has again raised questions about the roll-out of taser guns.

  1. Why on earth should police have tasers. Its quite sipmle—if you threaten a police officer or a member of the public and refuse to back down or drop your weapon—-you should be shot—-why should they be tasered and become someone elses problem next time.
its a good message to crooks and bad people—-put it down or be shot—why should the police have to be investigated and critised when they use the very equipment they are given to “protect” the rest of the community. Good work police—all of you.

  2. Well said Gary. Its about time the laws were on the side of the police, honestly who would want to do their job?

  3. I agree. The police are given guns, and should be allowed to defend themselves,
and the public. Without all the Investigation afterwards, Putting more strain on
the police officers. They do a great job. I have a son in the N.S.W. Police.
Also My husband was in the English Police force. It is a great worry when they are out on duty, taking their lives in their hands, in protection of the Australian
public. So get behind them, and don’t make them feel guilty for doing their job.
