A fisherman is lucky to be alive after being swept from rocks just south of Avoca Beach earlier this afternoon.
He was in the water for around 40-minutes, before being attended to by a Surf Lifesaver, who stabilised the man on a rescue board.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter winched the man to safety.
He was taken to Gosford Hospital in a stable condition..
