The Australian Rail Track Corporation will conduct an internal investigation following an accident at a level crossing near Uralla on the weekend.
A ute collided with a northbound Country link train at the Wollun Road crossing on Friday night.
The male driver of the vehicle and his female passenger were injured in the accident.
None of the 70 train passengers were hurt.
The ARTC will also assist with a police investigation.
