DRAIN WORKS CONTINUE ON DENISON STREET

Tamworth drivers will have to avoid Denison Street for at least another fortnight, while drainage works continue.

Council has been working to connect underground infrastructure between the Locomotive Hotel and Barnes Gully for the past month, in a bid to prevent flooding during heavy rain.

“The West Tamworth Drainage Project’s been going for a number of years, probably three years and it will continue in the next financial year, a lot of the older part of West Tamworth does not have underground storm water drainage.”

This stage of the project’s worth $2.4 million.
