HEARTBREAK FOR THE UPPER HUNTER AS SOAKING RAIN FALLS ON THE COAST

While the Lower Hunter received soaking rain over the weekend, with Lake Macquarie and Tocal recording more than 80 millimetres, unfortunately it hasn’t been falling where it’s needed most.
Paddocks in the Upper Hunter were still dry today, the lack of rain disappointing our drought-affected farmers.
A meagre TWO millimetres has fallen at Merriwa since Thursday morning, while Murrurundi recorded just 12 millimetres over the last four days.
It’s more heartbreak for those battling drought, who are being forced to buy expensive feed or sell livestock at bargain prices.
