Biting into a doughnut for an afternoon sugar hit is something that probably too many of us enjoy.
But this story is about the doughnut that bit back.
In regards to the sweet that wasn’t storey, shown on 24.4.09.
I also have had a problem with foreign objects in food from the coles supermarket at Warners Bay.
My object was a commercial staple in a package of mince meat.
It was not found until my 9 yr old daughter had it in her mouth at dinner time.
I took the staple to the coles store, only to have the manager at the time tell me that I should have brought the packaging back as well but they will look into it.
Ten days later I returned and was told that nothing had been done and that they could not do anything about it.
I thought that things like this in food would be an instant removal of the product from the shelves untill the problem was resolved.
Im disgusted that companies as big as this can get away with it and not even give a apology what is this world coming to? what is going to be done about this. To think if it was a child that had swallowed the object
Do you ever think that the store staff are not trained in the legality’s of these matters & are told by their employer not to give an opinion but refer it to National office?
I happen to be a strong supporter of those good folk at Coles Warners Bay, I recently went to a trivia night where they raised over $3000 for a local girl with Diabetes & I am led to believe they have made over $15,000 in donations to the local community, for Breast Cancer, Prostrate Cancer, Wespac Helicopter, I also notice they have a defibilator on the wall, in case you kind folk have a heart attack.
When people quote the MANAGER, do they really speak to the manager or take for granted the girl that answers the phone on the weekend knows everything?
Next time you have a complaint & go in to a store think about the person you are abusing, Is it really their fault? Did they deliberately do it to your product, Or is it another big company that supplies to Woolworths & Coles.
Oh while I,m at it next time you line up in front of me at the checkout, think before having a good whinge, cos do you whinge when you line up to put your lotto on? Do you whinge at the RTA line? Do you whinge at the Post Office? No you take it out on the innocent checkout chick cos you think they are lower class citizens.
Think about it next time you walk into Woolies, Bilo, Coles, franklins or the local IGA.
