SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION MAY HAVE STARTED BARN FIRE

Fire investigators believe a ferocious hay shed fire in the Hunter may have been started by spontaneous combustion.
Fire crews were called to a barn on Ross Lane at East Maitland, just before nine last night, to find the structure well alight.
It took seven crews more than three hours to extinguish the blaze, which badly damaged a nearby caravan.
The shed was completely destroyed.
