A coroner has handed down a raft of recommendations following the death of a Newcastle driver in the Targa Tasmania rally.
John Ernest Mansell was killed while competing in the 2013 event, when his Porsche Cayman crashed into a tree.
Among the recommendations, calls for additional head and neck support devices for drivers, and random alcohol testing.
