Plans have been unveiled in Coffs Harbour for a $5-million medical centre which will employ an additional 10 general practitioners.
Private health care operator, Healthscope, will build the centre at Park Beach Plaza.
The facility will include a pharmacy, pathology services and allied health professionals.
A spokesman for Healthscope said the new centre will help alleviate Coffs Harbour’s doctor shortage and reduce waiting times for patients.
