MUSIC FEES TO RISE FOR FITNESS CENTRES

Gym memberships are already expensive, but they could soon sky-rocket due to an increase in fees which fitness centres pay for music.

Operators say it’s a desperate and unfair cash grab by record industry bosses to plug a hole left in their pockets by declining CD sales.

  1. No its not a cash grab by industry bosses. I compose a musical peice and someone wishes to use it whilst making money from it, gym membership fees for example, then I am entitled to payement for said work. This is not just pointed at gyms but anyone who uses a composers music will pay a fee. If it was not for APRA/AMCOS I would be fighting a battle to get any form of payment!!
