CRICKET GRAND SLAM
Tamworth has claimed its second Coal Board Cup cricket title, beating Maitland by 32 runs.
Brendan Rixon top scored for Tamworth with 72, having held the innings together with Tim Kensell after the top order fell cheaply.
The injured Ben Legge (pron: leg) was the best of the Tamworth bowlers, taking three for 26.
The victory saw Tamworth complete a cricketing clean sweep, with the side having also won the SCG Country Cup final and the War Veterans’ series this summer.
