A smoke haze could be seen across much of the northwest today.
Despite some small outbreaks in the region, the Bureau of Meteorology says much of the smoke pollution has most likely come from the devastating fires in Victoria.
Meanwhile strong wind ripped through the Tamworth and Liverpool Plains area late yesterday, with Gunnedah recording up to 120 kilometres an hour.
