Country Energy has embarked on a major project to satisfy increased demand for electricity in Tamworth.
$562,000 is being spent to install 54 power poles, along with new switches and three kilometres of line.
The company says Taminda and Westdale have grown significantly in recent years, particularly Westdale where there are a large number of houses being built with air conditioning.
The work will be finished by the end of the March.
