TWO SURVIVE CRASH NORTH OF COFFS HARBOUR

A couple has been lucky to escape serious injury, after a vehicle towing a caravan crashed on the Pacific Highway.

The accident occurred at the base of the Dirty Creek Range, near Corindi, shortly before midday.

Ambulance officers and emergency services spent an hour freeing a female passenger, aged in her 60s.

She was taken to Coffs Harbour Hospital and treated for chest and head injuries.

Police say the vehicle was travelling south from Grafton, when it crashed into a tree, causing the caravan to roll.
