RUDD’S BOOST FOR FARMERS

Rural residents haven’t been excluded from the Prime Minister’s stimulus package.

Farmers receiving Exceptional Circumstances funding will be the first to see the cash from the $42-billion spending spree.

More than 21,500 farmers currently receiving drought assistance will pocket a $950 bonus payment.

Money has also been directed to regional road repair, with the government pledging $150-million.
