WOOLGOOLGA BIDS FOR COUNTRY TITLES
The Coffs Harbour City Council will tonight consider a request from the Woolgoolga Surf Club to back its bid to stage the Country Surf Life Saving Titles from 2010 to 2012.
The club wants the council to provide $25,000 in funding each year to help it host the event.
Woolgoolga last held the country titles in 2006 when around 3,000 competitors from across the state took part.
The Woolgoolga Chamber of Commerce is backing the bid and estimates competitors and visitors would spend around $2-million during their stay.
