Struggling ABC Learning Centres in Armidale and Inverell could be thrown a lifeline.
A consortium, known as Children’s 21, is planning to take over the 241 facilities which were deemed to be unviable by March.
“Children’s 21 is a consortium of not-for-profit organisations and each of them has substantial experience in the childcare industry.”
Under the plan, less profitable centres will be propped up by those more viable.
The group will know within weeks if its bid is successful.
