MAN SURRENDERS AFTER 12 HOUR SIEGE

A man at the centre of a 12-hour siege on the Mid North Coast, has tonight surrendered to police.
A police spokeswoman said the 41-year-old was taken into custody shortly after six o’clock.
An eight-year-old boy was released without harm.
Police say they secured the release of a further four hostages between 8.45 and 11.50am, but the stalemate with the gunman stretched
into the afternoon.
The man from Eagle Vale in Sydney’s south-western suburbs is due to appear in Port Macquarie Bail Court tomorrow.
He has been charged with numerous offences, including firing a firearm with intent to cause harm, possessing a firearm without authority and dangerous driving.
