SURVEY FINDS HUNTER RESIDENTS CONCERNED ABOUT AIR QUALITY

A study for the Environment Protection Authority has found almost half of lower Hunter residents are worried about air quality.
The survey, by Macquarie University, also found more than a third of the 400 people interviewed didn’t think the air is being properly monitored.
The EPA says coal dust and the covering of coal wagons were some of the main issues raised and it’s working to address concerns, having recently doubled the number of air monitors in the region.
