HUMPBACK WHALES RETURN

It’s official – the first humpback whale of 2017 has been sighted off the Port Stephens coast.
A whale watching company in Nelson Bay reported sighting a young whale two miles offshore this afternoon between Boondelbah and Little Island.
Approximately 22,000 of the world’s humpback whale population pass the NSW coast line on their 12,000km migration every year.
It is the longest documented migration of any mammal on earth.
