PARTY – THEN PLAY ON

Australian Golf has been up in arms over the ‘party’ hole which has been back in play at major domestic tournaments again this summer.

Introduced to entice crowds back to events while adding something to the TV spectacle, it hasn’t been well recieved by all who actually play.

Most recently Robert Allenby, who has never been in favour of the idea, was left angered by crowds at the Australian Open and even suggested he could boycott future events if a range of issues weren’t addressed.

However, with the success of crowd numbers at the ‘party’ holes to date, its unlikely they’ll be cut from the program next summer and Australian Golfing great Jack Newton agrees.

Clink on to hear what Jack thinks of Allenby’s issues and more on the work being done to make golf more attractive to the viewing public.
