CHALLENGES AHEAD FOR UNE

University of New England chancellor, Richard Torbay, has described the federal government’s Bradley review as a wake up call for regional universities.
Mr Torbay believes the proposed deregulation of tertiary institutions would create significant challenges for UNE.
Senior staff at the university have begun drafting a response to the Bradley review, which calls for video conferencing technologies and more distance education options.
The report also suggests that local universities and TAFEs should share facilities and teaching resources.
