  2. Hi Anna,

Unfortunately our videos before last year have been lost. So the video cannot be watched.

    I apologise for any inconvenience.

    Web Team.

  3. This must be a first for any council to aprove a free caravan park, adjoining an existing caravan park. How many free caravan parks in the Tamworth Council Region! No doubt the council is trying to put these people out of business. We may ask Col Murray what his hidden agenda is. Majority of residents in Bendemeer at a meeting voted against the free caravan parking, but major Murray in his widsom said we were having it . Is this council listening to the rate payers who pay their wages,

  4. Shame on you Mayor Murray, you are not listening to your ratepayers, instead turning your back on this business and this small town – how do you sleep at night??

  5. Tamworth Regional Council making the decision to offer free camping at Bendemeer showgrounds right next door to the towns existing caravan park !!!
How is this a morally acceptable decision???

As a community we are all asking ourselves WHY would council go against a majority community consensus and assist in leading a small business through such personal heartache and financial demise to its now impending closure.

I travel 100 kms a day from an outlying area just to get my children to school at Bendemeer. A local town without fuel means families like mine may not be able to continue schooling at Bendemeer. Without families a small rural school like Bendemeer can cease to exist!!!

  6. A similiar situation occured at Mudgee in 2012 when the Mid Western Council banned camping at the Mudgee Showground. The paying clientele, yes the paying clientele, were given an on ths spot refund and told to move on.
This action was based on a complaint of one of the 3 caravan park operators in Mudgee. His reasoning was that Council should not have a business venture that conflicted with other business.
Interesting enough the caravan park owners brother happens to be a member of the Mudgee Showground Committee.
Within hours of the decision the world knew about it via the internet. It is not hard to find it simply Google Campers Boycott Mudgee.
The RV community boycotted Mudgee and as far as I am aware that boycott is still occuring.
Regretably many smaller towns surrounding Mudgee have also suffered financial losses as a result of the boycott. These towns were more than happy to accomodate free campers.
The final wash up is that 12 months ago there was 3 caravan parks in Mudgee. Today there is one.
As for the caravan park operator who initiated this debacle, well he did not survive.
I would suggest careful consideration, it may be a case of saving a $1 but it has the potential to ultimately costs thousands of $’s.
