CLUNES SEWERAGE

After ten long years a modern stand-alone sewerage system has finally been given the green light for construction at Clunes.
In a unanimous vote, Lismore City Councillors rejected ideas to pipe sewage and waste water between the town and the city.
Piping was considered too expensive – three pumping stations would be required to move the waste along with 13 air vents.
Council is yet to set local rates to pay for the new system.
