Representatives of an Armidale company are back from Canberra, after lobbying for funding to ensure clean technologies can be developed in regional centres.
Their electric car, the evMe, has been described as the Rolls Royce of green cars.
More than half of the car’s $70,000 price tag covers its energy dense battery.
The running cost is friendlier, the driver pays $2.50 every 100 kilometres and can recharge from any domestic power point.
“we can travel between 200 and 250km on a recharge and then of course you just take it home and plug it in and you’re ready to go the next morning.”
