Federal Minister for Climate Change and Water, Penny Wong has
approved $615,000 in funding for the Gwydir Valley Irrigators Association.
The grant is part of a state-wide $9-million project to help deliver sustainable groundwater entitlements to farmers.
Gwydir Valley funding will be used to investigate and invest in horticulture alternatives for ground water irrigators, creating greater employment opportunities.
