Two years of frustration has come to an end for the developer of a chicken farm near Tamworth.
The regional council approved the eight-shed operation last night.
The family business plans a staged development for the site, 10 kilometres outside Somerton.
The initial sheds will house a maximum of 450,000 birds.
Tamworth Council was unanimous in its support of the development, despite several nearby residents raising concerns over dust, odour and noise.
However, advice from the Department of Environment and Climate Change dismissed those concerns, subject to a stringent list of conditions.
