FLIGHT ACADEMY TAKES OFF
Construction work at Gunnedah’s multi-million dollar flight training academy could begin as early as January.
The Australia Asia Flight Training company yesterday signed a contract to lease the Gunnedah airport for the next 30 years from the town’s council.
Council also agreed to the part sale of 500 hectares of land, which will be transformed into an accommodation and training facilities.
Gunnedah Mayor Adam Marshall says the new facility will generate close to 80 full and part time jobs and pump an addition $15 to $20 million into the Gunnedah economy each year.
