LUCKY ESCAPE FOR DRIVER
Pedestrians had an amazing escape in Tamworth today, when an out of control car careered more than 50 metres down a usually busy footpath.
The vehicle left wheelie bins, speed signs and letter boxes in its wake – but luckily no one was in the path of the ute on Werris Creek Road footpath.
The ute eventually stopped, after getting wedged between a fence and a power pole.
While the road was wet, it’s believed the male driver of the ute, aged in his 40’s, may have suffered a seizure before the crash.
He was taken to Tamworth Hospital in a stable condition.
