HIGH DRAMA DAY AT AUSTRALIAN RALLY

There was plenty of drama during today’s final stages of the Australian Rally Championships in Coffs Harbour.

Eli Evans claimed the race victory, after one of the top runners, British Rally Champion Guy Wilks crashed out of contention.

It was a disappointing finish for Wilks, who used the Australian series’ sixth and final round to road test for Team Honda Australia.

While Evans was the fastest over the weekend, Neal Bates was also celebrating.

He secured the Australian Drivers Championship with a heat to spare on Saturday.

The Toyota Corolla driver is only the second person to win four national titles, in Rally Australia’s 41-year history.
