FARRER COURT CASE CONTINUES
A Sydney court has been told a former Farrer high student’s psychiatric illness is a direct result of the bullying he endured at the Tamworth school during the 1990’s.
30-year-old David Gregory is suing the state for $2-million, saying the school’s failure to prevent bullying lead to him suffering from agorophobia and obsessive compulsive disorder.
Mr Gregory says he began to self-mutilate and washed himself obsessively with hospital cleaners, after teachers ignored his complaints while studying at the school.
In the New South Wales Supreme court today Dr Michael Diamond – who examined Gregory twice – said there was a history of victimisation, physical attack and vilification.
The hearing continues.
