DROUGHT PAIN EASES
New figures released by the state government show the northwest is slowly coming out of drought.
Tamworth remains satisfactory while the Moree, Narrabri, northern slopes and parts of the northern New England RLPB are still drought declared.
The Armidale Rural Lands Protection board has moved out of drought.
Spring rainfall in some areas of the state has seen overall drought figures drop from 69 per cent to 62 in the past month.
It’s provided relief for the region’s grain growers heading into one of their best harvests in years.
