Coffs Harbour MP, Andrew Fraser, says the Roads and Traffic Authority should abandon its current plan and go back to the drawing board on a Pacific Highway bypass.
Mr Fraser says a far-western route, which has been ruled out by the RTA, is the option favoured by most Coffs Harbour residents.
