There’s been a blow for representative lawn bowling in the north west with the Tamworth Redbacks announcing they won’t play in the State Premier League next year.
The decision comes after a disappointing season for the side which received the wooden spoon this year in the State bowling league.
The team has cited its form and increasing costs as the reasons behind the decision, but hasn’t ruled out a return to the competition in future years.
