WATER STUDY A STEP CLOSER

Caroona landholders met with the facilitator of a possible independent water study for the Liverpool Plains in Sydney today.

New South Wales Farmers Association President, Jock Laurie and BHP Billiton representatives also attended the meeting with former environment minister, Pam Allan, to try to finalise details of the plan.

Caroona farmer, Tim Duddy, says talks are progressing well, however there’s still a long way to go.

The proposed study is still in draft form, but farmers will work on the wording of the plan and their objectives ahead of another meeting with the group next week.
