One of two Filipino seamen severely burnt in an explosion onboard a bulk carrier off Nelson Bay this morning has been transferred to hospital in Sydney.
The rescue helicopter was sent to the Cape Lotus, 120 kilometres east of Nelson Bay about 5am.
A 31-year-old man was transferred to the Royal North Shore Burns Unit in a serious condition, while a 51-year-old man remains at the John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
