Newcastle’s George Bilbie, Australia’s oldest practising lawyer, has died.
Earlier this year we brought you the story of how, at the ripe old age of 100, George was still practising law.
He died last night, after suffering a stroke on Sunday morning.
A funeral service will be held at St Johns Cooks Hill at 1pm on Thursday.
