LOCAL TRIATHLETES PUT CENTRAL COAST ON THE MAP

It’s been a busy weekend for six Central Coast triathletes, both here and abroad.
Bateau Bay’s Chris Dmitrieff went straight to work as a bartender after winning the long-course Maitland Triathlon at Morpeth.
Nathan Stewart from Newcastle was the early leader before a strong finish saw Dmitrieff square things up.
Adam Cartmell and his father Peter also excelled.
Overseas, three Central Coast residents have completed the most gruelling triathlon in the world – the Hawaiian Ironman.
Matt Porta finished the 226km course in 9 hours, 37 minutes, while Brett Stewart was an hour behind him.
Allison Ferry ran, cycled and swam for 13 hours.
Fellow Australian Craig Alexander won the race in 8 hours and 17 minutes.
