It was a bittersweet long weekend for Armidale rugby league side, the Narwan Eels.
Popular character and long-time player, Alf Atkinson, died during the team’s semi-final match at this year’s Aboriginal Rugby League Knockout.
Despite the tragic loss the side went on to win the game, and ultimately the grandfinal.
